One, two, or three-day clinics. Class room lecture on the rules, regulations, and safety of Back Country Riding, Horse Packing, and Outfitting. Learn hands-on how to pack horses and mules. Types of hitches and knots, such as the diamond, box, squaw, and barrel hitches. Learn how to balance and manage your load, what to bring on a horse packing trip. The types of saddles and equipment you need. Learn the basics of outfitting.

Horse Shoeing and Trimming Clinic

Learn about the hoof and biomechanics of the bone and muscle structure of the horse. Learn about horse shoeing and trimming. What to look for when your farrier/shoer is working on your horse. Share the knowledge that I have learned over the past 27 years. Learn about hoof balance and what the foot can tell us about the horse. Learn proper maintenance for your horses hooves. Commercial Stable Management Clinic

Class room setting, lecture, questions and answers. Learn about commercial stable management, type of horses needed, bookkeeping, buying of tack, supplies, equipment. Horse Management, Safety, and Psychology

Learn the body language of horses and what it means. Learn how to work around horses, handle the rough ones as well as the good ones. Learn the psychology of the horse, how to get along with them, get the most out of the horse you own. What to look for when buying a horse, their temperament. Horse Ownership

This is a clinic for the family or person just getting into horse ownership or planning on getting into horses. It is designed to help that person get started correctly with horses. It gives the history of the horse using different association video tapes, covers different disciplines of riding, cost of horse ownership, horse maintenance and care, and safety. What to look for when buying your first horse and how to go about it. What you can do with the horse once you own one. Different ways to get into the horse business. Lecture, video, questions and answers.

 

The rates for these clinics vary with the location, time of year, and length of the clinic. Each Clinic rate is set according to the number of clinicians. Has had articles published in local and national publications in the Equine Field. Currently working towards a Masters Degree in English Literature. Has two equine books in publication. Thirty+ years experience within the horse industry. Experienced in horsemanship and riding instruction, training under saddle and in harness, breeding operations. Management with commercial stables, English and Western Tack (retail store), buying and selling tack and equipment. Management Background in Equine and Bovine Animal Health. Certified Bare Tree Saddle Fitter.
